Ruminants

Ruminants have the most differentiated and complex stomach system of all mammals with three fermentative chambers (reticulum, rumen and omasum) that precede the true stomach (abomasum). This specialised digestive tract is well adapted to the digestion of structural plant polysaccharides, and enables ruminants to feed exclusively on forages. The reticulo-rumen plays a major role in digestion.

Nu3guts feed additives help meat and milk producers to be successful by optimizing the rumen functions, maintaining a healthy microbial population, decreasing methane production and improving the energy balance of animals, reducing feed protein degradation to increase bioavailability of amino acids in the small intestine, reducing the degradation rate of rapidly fermentable carbohydrates (starch, sucrose) and improving fibre digestion.
