Providing electrolytes to mitigate production losses caused by heat stress 

Birds are more susceptible to heat stress than mammals due to their lack of sweat glands and being covered by feathers. During heat stress they try to control their body temperature by panting, increasing 10 x their normal respiration rate. Heat stress causes physiological changes resulting in reduced performance and poor meat and egg quality. 

Adding electrolytes and bicarbonate (Hydra-Fizz) and anti-oxidants (Antox-Fizz) to drinking water helps to restore the electrolyte balance and blood pH and to reduce oxidative stress, mitigating the negative consequences of heat stress on performance and meat quality. 

Hydro-Fizz also contains dextrose to provide a fast and easy digestible energy source during periods of heat stress when feed intake is lower.
